Job Description Summary

The Department of Geosciences at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track faculty position in Human Geography beginning January 1, 2019. The position is a one-year appointment subject to annual review and renewable based on performance, need for services and available funding. The successful applicant will teach a combination of introductory Global Geography and Human Geography courses, as well as regional courses (e.g., Geography of Latin America, Geography of Africa, Geography of Asia) as determined by the candidate s expertise, experience, and department needs. The teaching load will be three courses each semester. Other related duties include preparing course syllabus, grading, maintaining weekly office hours, coordinating GTA s assisting the teaching, and participating in activities in conjunction with the Geosciences Department and College of Sciences and Mathematics.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a conferred Ph.D by the hire date in Geography with demonstrable teaching experience. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the time the appointment begins and be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
