The Associate / Senior Associate Athletics Director-Leadership Development reports to the Director of Athletics (or his or her designee) and is a member of the department's senior administration group. The Associate / Senior Associate Athletics Director-Leadership Development will be a practitioner that teaches, facilitates and administers the department's comprehensive student-athlete leadership program. The successful candidate will be hired into the Associate or Senior Associate role following review of their skills and experience against the minimum qualifications for the position. Candidates hired at the level of Senior Associate level will be responsible for all duties listed below, but will also be responsible for sport supervision.

The Associate / Senior Associate Athletics Director-Leadership Development will supervise, manage, and deliver the department's leadership development initiatives. The person in this role is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all programming and services for the department's leadership development programs. In addition, this position will act as the department's primary liaison with the University community regarding leadership initiatives across campus. The Associate / Senior Associate Athletics Director-Leadership Development will also work with supervisor in determining and addressing the department's overall programming needs.

The Associate / Senior Associate Athletics Director-Leadership Development will serve on the management team of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. The person in this position will work closely with the department's leadership in planning efforts, and in the development, coordination, and execution of program policy and procedures for the area of student-athlete development and leadership. In addition, the position will represent the department in a number of internal operations related to leadership and will be responsible for supervising those operations, as well as carrying out other administrative functions as assigned.

Job Duties:
*Develop and implement comprehensive leadership program for student-athletes, coaches and administrators.
*Teach, in a classroom setting, programming that supports leadership and personal development for student-athletes and staff.
*Create curriculum and objectives for the elite student-athlete leadership program offering for select members.
*Direct and facilitate nominations and applicant review for membership in the department's elite student leadership program.
*Collaborate with administrative team to establish educational programming for coaches, administrators and department staff.
*Coordinate guest speakers and special events associated with leadership programming.
*Facilitate collaboration with key stakeholders, in the area of leadership development, across the Bucknell community.
*Provide support and consultation to student-athletes and coaches in the area of team building, motivation, communication, conflict resolution, peak performance and leadership.
*Establish metrics and data collection methods to evaluate program offerings.
*Select and institute leadership assessments to be used for student-athletes and other groups engaging in leadership development.
*Coordinate and implement programming that supports student-athlete welfare and development.
*Design a program that offers a broad approach to meeting the transitional needs of students matriculating and/or transferring into the university.
*Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Director of Athletics-Leadership Development minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years teaching and/or professional management experience working in a leadership-focused environment
- Skills addressing management and programming issues concerning the administration of student-focused programming
-Strong organizational, budgeting, management, time management including a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple assignments effectively
-Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and student-athletes having a range of backgrounds, interests and perspectives
-Proficient computer skills including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, word-processing and the ability to learn new technologies

Senior Associate Director of Athletics-Leadership Development minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years teaching and/or professional management experience working in leadership-focused environment
- Experience with management and programming issues concerning the administration of student-focused programming in an athletics department and/or in higher education or related field
-Strong organizational, budgeting, management, time management including a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple assignments effectively
-Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and student-athletes having a range of backgrounds, interests and perspectives
-Proficient computer skills including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, word-processing and the ability to learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:
- Trained and/or certified in leadership assessment tool (e.g. Real Colors, DiSC, Meyers Briggs, etc.)
