Physical Therapy, Continuing Track Open Rank Faculty, Gross & Regional Anatomy

The successful candidate will lead the Department's teaching efforts in Gross and Regional Anatomy with other teaching responsibilities commensurate with expertise and experience. There is also the potential to develop a program in physical therapy studies that will serve UD undergraduates and post-graduate students preparing to apply to PT education programs. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. All faculty are expected to contribute to a welcoming campus environment that embraces diversity.

The Department is a thriving academic unit recently ranked #1 in the nation by US News & World Report. It includes 30 faculty and professionals including 14 PhD trained faculty with independent research lines, 180 professional students in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program, 30 graduate students pursuing a PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science, post-professional residencies, and a 10,000 square foot physical therapy clinic that is open to the public and has specific expertise in the physical therapy intervention related to sports, orthopedics, and neurologic patients and older adults.

The Department has been a pioneer in physical therapy and a leader in rehabilitation research and physical therapy education and is a center of excellence in PT clinical practice, education, and rehabilitation research. The Department provides an environment that supports and fosters the development of a focused, productive and high-quality research program by all faculty members.

The Department is part of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), an innovative, interdisciplinary college of more than 3,000 students and 120 faculty including the departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Medical and Molecular Sciences, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and the School of Nursing. CHS was recently ranked in the top 1% nationally among the best places to study health professions by College Factual. The state-of-the-art Health Sciences Complex opened in January 2014 on the University's new Science Technology & Advanced Research (STAR) Campus. The candidate should have an earned graduate degree in a related field, significant university teaching experience, and be eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Delaware.
