Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Hybrid ABSN Part-Time Faculty is an 80% administrative and 20% Teaching/Scholarship/Service position with a 12 month faculty appointment in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing ( MNSON )*.

Administrative:
-Recruits, interview, makes hiring recommendations, supervises, and evaluates part-time faculty assigned to teach in the Hybrid ABSN program
-Manages teaching assignments for all part-time faculty for each course, each semester
-Coordinates part-time faculty assignments in light of the full-time faculty assignments as designated by the Hybrid ABSN Program Director
-Identifies learning needs and develops orientation and ongoing development materials for new and existing part-time faculty
-Implements orientation processes for new and existing part-time prior to each semester, including the use of the Learning Management System ( LMS )
-Assists in the communication between part-time faculty members and School of Nursing Course Directors/Lead Faculty to ensure adherence with all course requirements
-Collaborates with key individuals including the Hybrid ABSN Simulation Instructor to coordinate student and faculty assignments regarding simulation and laboratory experiences
-Manages part-time faculty compliance and ensures that they complete the orientation process at each clinic agency to which they are assigned, including adherence with clinical agency health and other stated requirements
-Conducts clinical site visits to evaluate part-time faculty teaching effectiveness as well as adequacy of student learning, as needed
-Conducts performance evaluations of part-time faculty with input from IDEA evaluations and feedback from the Course Director, Hybrid ABSN Program Director, and Senior Associate Dean
-Recommends continued appointment of existing part-time faculty
-Develops and oversees the implementation of an acknowledgement process for all part-time faculty
-For the Clinical Role Transition course, leads the team (including Hybrid ABSN Program Director, School of Nursing Course Director, Hybrid ABSN Academic Advisor, and School of Nursing Registrar) to plan, implement and evaluate clinical agency, preceptor, and clinical faculty assignments
-Oversees maintenance of a Part-time Faculty database including demographic information, availability, placement confirmation and faculty clinical requirement compliance, including license, immunization and CPR documentation
-Collaborates with the Hybrid ABSN Clinical Placement Coordinator in planning, implementing and evaluating the acquisition and maintenance of clinical agencies
-Serves as liaison between clinical agency personnel and School of Nursing administration and faculty, including representing the School of Nursing at clinical agency consortium meetings

Teaching:
-Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching
-Uses a variety of innovative teaching techniques, including clinical simulations/electronic teaching methods, to promote critical thinking and achieve course outcomes
-Teaching assigned courses, as required

Scholarship:
-Supports the research/scholarly mission of the School and/or University
-Maintains currency in scholarship in the field of expertise

Service:
-Participates in service to the MNSON and University by attendance at school and/or university functions
-Membership in professional organization(s)
-Maintains availability to students for coaching and mentoring
-Actively serves as a member of MNSON committees and/or task forces

*Administrative and teaching assignment may change and is dependent on program needs

Qualifications
-Licensure in the state of Illinois as a Registered Nurse or Eligible for Illinois RN licensure(s)
-Collaborative and consultative working style
-Knowledge and understanding of the mission and values of Loyola University Chicago and the MNSON
-Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that promote collaborative relationships
-Experience in higher education, clinical settings, corporate entities and community outreach
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with administrators, faculty, and staff and with diverse populations and community partners
-Expertise in program development, analysis and evaluation is highly preferred
-Competency in Office applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-Meets the requirements of a full-time faculty appointment in the MNSON , consistent with rank

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
-Master s Degree or higher in nursing
-Teaching experience in higher education
-Administrative and leadership abilities consistent with the requirements of the position
-Experience in higher education, clinical settings, corporate entities and community outreach
-Expertise in program development, analysis and evaluation is highly preferred
-Active or eligible for RN licensure in the State of Illinois
