Position Summary:
Network Infrastructure and Services (NI&S) provides network, wireless, public safety, voice, cable TV, computing and cloud services for faculty, staff, students, and partners at Virginia Tech.
NI&S is seeking motivated individuals to be part of an agile development team designing and developing applications and integration solutions to support all aspects of NI&S operations to include business management systems, technology infrastructure management systems and automation solutions. A successful candidate will be resourceful, able to work independently, and be willing to learn.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or commensurate experience
- Significant experience in application development
- Experience with modern languages and technologies, such as Node.js, Javascript, Java, Python, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Git or similar code versioning repository

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in test-driven development
- Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD
- Demonstrated experience with developing in an agile development environment
- Experience with container-based development environments such as Docker
- Experience with Cloud-based development such as AWS
- Experience with systems integration strategies, such as REST / SOAP web services, messaging, or direct SQL / LDAP
