The Department of Political Science at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in International Relations to begin in the Fall of 2019. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach introductory and upper-level courses in International Relations, as well as to extend departmental coverage in Comparative Politics in regions including South Asian, South-East Asian, East Asian, or Central and Eastern European (including Russia) politics. The Political Science Department is home to both a political science major and an interdisciplinary international relations major, and the successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in the management of the international relations major program.

All International Relations subfield specializations will be considered, including, but not limited to, the following areas:
• international political economy
• comparative foreign policy
• security studies
• intra or inter-state conflict
• peace studies
• conflict resolution.

We are especially interested in the ability to develop and teach courses at the intersections of traditional discipline and subfield specializations. We are committed to providing our students with excellent educational and co-curricular opportunities, and our faculty has significant mentoring experience with new teachers in postdoctoral and junior faculty appointments. For example, we offer regular programming in professional development and all tenure-track faculty are entitled to a fully paid pre-tenure sabbatical and research funds to support scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications:
A PhD at the onset of the appointment (August 2019) is required.

A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
