Senior Associate Director, Leadership and Parent Giving

The Senior Associate Director, Leadership and Parent Giving engages with the Wheaton community to uncover and understand the philanthropic objectives of alumni and parents, and plays a key role in meeting the dollar and donor goals set forth for the Wheaton Fund. The Senior Associate Director develops and implements strategies that increase leadership annual giving to the Wheaton Fund from a select portfolio of alumni and parents of the College.

Responsibilities of the Senior Associate Director, Leadership and Parent Giving include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage an assigned pool of prospective donors and volunteers through the fundraising continuum of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, focusing on prospects capable of making annual gifts of $2,500 or more to the Wheaton Fund.
• Visit with 100+ alumni and parents each fiscal year to solicit support and promote membership in the Mary Lyon Leadership Society which recognizes all donors who make a gift of $1,000 or more to the College each year.
• Oversee parent fundraising, with specific attention to non-alumni parents, in an effort to increase engagement with the College at the onset of their time as Wheaton parents.
• Manage the Associate Director, Portfolio Management who manages a smaller portfolio of prospects who primarily fall within the 25th reunion program.
• Direct and oversee the strategy and management for approximately 8-10 parent volunteers.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in development, fundraising, or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to travel regularly both locally and regionally, as well as work occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Demonstrated experience calling, conducting face-to-face appointments, managing relationships, creating and presenting proposals, and other fundamental elements of client/donor relationship or sales-related management.
• Demonstrated experience in recruiting, managing, training, and motivating volunteers.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive, creative problem solving ability to interact with a broad range of constituents including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the College.
• Database experience and computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), and ability to analyze data and learn new software.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with parent constituency highly desirable.
