Clinical Skills Assessment & Education Trainer, VTCSoM

Position Summary:
This trainer reports to the Director of Standardized Patients and Quality. Primary responsibilities are to train for the clinical skills teaching and assessment activities and operations in the VTCSOM . This includes working with the Senior Director of Clinical Skills Assessment and Education to ensure successful development and implementation of examinations, quality assurance of assessment activities within the clinical skills assessments, collaborating with Block Directors to design and implement student remediation and recruit, schedule and train standardized patients.
The trainer works closely with the Senior Director and Director to provide Standardized Patient Program services for Basic Science, Clinical Science, Interprofessionalism, Research and external clients in development and implementation of assessments, development of remediation plans for students and teaching and assessment processes. The trainer develops cases and works with the Director and Senior Director to prepare reports for faculty and deans as required.
Specific responsibilities will include the following:
Coordinate the overall planning and administration of teaching and assessment activities involving standardized patients. Supervise SP Training, orientation, case development, recruitment. Accomplished staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures. Maintain and monitor proper quality assurance guidelines. Operate B-Line system and coordinate with TSG and B-Line to ensure smooth operation of all events in the OSCE suite

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and prior experience in relevant field required.
Prior experience may be in customer support, clinical skills, and operations management.
Demonstrated progression through increased levels of responsibility.
Must be a self-initiated team player with strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
Capable of prioritizing multiple complex problems and meeting deadlines.
Professional with advanced communication skills.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Highly skilled in training and development of talent.
Capability to take direction and communicate to multiple influencers.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience in Clinical Skills Assessment.
Ability to develop and communicate customer insight findings and recommendations.
Strong training/teaching ability.
Ability to proactively identify needs and solutions.
Ability to influence individuals' behaviors within other functions for which they have no direct authority.
Excellent supervision skills to improve staff and standardized patient performance.
Advanced strategic thinking and very strong project management and process capabilities.
Self-motivated individual, team contributor and developing leader.
