FULL TIME LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER I

 

Virginia Western is accepting applications for a full time classified position as a Law Enforcement Officer I. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of public safety and security laws, legal codes, as well as regulations and equipment, to ensure effective safeguarding and security of people, buildings, and property of Virginia Western Community College. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures, to write, proofread, and edit written reports. Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations. Must be able to work all shifts, carrying equipment, and performing foot and vehicle patrols. Must possess or be able to obtain a DCJS law enforcement academy certification and a valid Virginia driver's license. A current valid driver's license is required, in addition to a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Honorable prior military service is preferred.
