The School of Accountancy in the College of Business at the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for the Lowder-Weil Endowed Chair in Accounting. Established to attract a talented, experienced, and passionate educator and scholar, this position is a three year, renewable term commitment beginning in January 2019 or August 2019.

Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting, participation in research and scholarly activities, and engagement in service activities within the school, college, university, profession and community. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching, high quality research, and the ability to increase the visibility of AUM with external outreach and engagement. This position requires a Doctorate in Accounting or a related field from an AACSB accredited institution. A financial accounting teaching area is preferred. Practical accounting experience and licensure (CPA) are desired.

Candidates who are not full professors are encouraged to apply for a tenure track appointment.

The School of Accountancy is AACSB separately accredited, has an engaged, student-focused faculty, and a rapidly growing Master of Accountancy program. The SOA enjoys the support of many AUM accounting alumni working in public accounting, private industry, and government.

Located in Montgomery, Alabama, AUM was established as a metropolitan campus of Auburn University by an act of the Alabama Legislature in 1967.
