Brief Summary:
The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for the 12-month, part-time position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. Marist College is an NCAA Division I program, sponsoring 23 varsity sports, and is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). This position reports to the Coordinator of Sports Medicine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include working as the primary athletic trainer with two assigned sports (some travel included) and acting in a secondary role with other sports, assisting with daily operations for the Marist College Sports Medicine Facilities, including, but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics-related health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine and Team Physicians(s).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-Accredited undergraduate program or Approved Entry-Level Master's Degree. Must possess, or be eligible for, certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC); and Athletic Training Certification in the State of New York. Must possess current certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED. Knowledge of NCAA rules and experience in NCAA Division I preferred.
