Grounds Worker

The Grounds Worker is responsible for the overall care and maintenance of the College's grounds, athletic fields, trees and plantings. Specifically, the Grounds Worker will perform such duties as mowing, weed whacking, edging, mulching, weeding, planting, fertilizing, pruning, aerating, slice seeding, and snow removal, as well as other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma and 1-3 years of work experience in grounds maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as necessary.
• Familiarity with the tools, equipment and operating procedures required to
perform grounds maintenance care and snow removal.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, and ability to lift, move and operate bulky equipment or materials weighing 50 to 80 pounds.
• Ability to quickly attain a high level of performance and work with minimum
supervision and direction and meet required deadlines.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, resolve problems and function as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid MA pesticide applicator's license.
• Valid MA hoisting engineer's license.
