American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 70+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 660,000 gross square feet. • Provide multi-culturally and trauma-informed psychological services, urgent/triage assessments, individual psychotherapy and group counseling to students, psychological evaluations as necessary, and make appropriate referral to other specialist.
• Coordinate care for and education about mental health related issues in regards to Student-Athletes in keeping with NCAA best practice guidelines.
• Intervene in crisis and emergency situations of mental health nature with students during normal business hours. Provides telephone consultation during crises outside of regular business hours; comes to campus outside of regular business hours following extraordinary traumatic events. Shared responsibility for after hours care night, week, and holiday coverage
• Consult with faculty, staff, students, families, and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students and the college community.
• Initiate and respond to requests to provide psycho-educational programming to various groups within the college community.
• Attend and participate in clinical staff meetings, consultations, and professional development and assumes responsibility for other assignments including serving on divisional and college committees.
• Provide clinical supervision and training of staff and trainees.
• Maintain electronic clinical records and provide clinical documentation and communications with external practitioners as necessary for comprehensive ethical clinical treatment.

• Required Degree(s): PhD or PsyD
• Required Field of Expertise: Counseling/Clinical Psychology or related field.
• Preferred Field of Expertise: Athletic Counseling, Sport Psychology
• Preferred Training/Cert: Received supervision hours toward certification by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology
• Preferred Licensure(s): Licensed Psychologist (Massachusetts)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• A commitment to providing direct client services to diverse populations, as well as consultation and outreach services
• Experience in clinical supervision and staff training
• Experience in the evaluation of clinical services and consultation with Athletic programs
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent and verbal and written communication skills

This is a full time, exempt level, benefit eligible, 10-month position. Normal Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., flexible to the needs of the department. This position will take part in evening, weekend, and holiday on-call rotation.
