Research Assistant 1


Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Research Assistant 1 will help to facilitate all aspects of our research, which is focused on lifestyle interventions for the treatment of obesity, including weight loss and weight loss maintenance. This position involves interaction with study participants within the context of screening, assessments, and treatment delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Participate in activities related to the recruitment, tracking, and follow-up of study participants.
  2. Facilitate and perform assessment procedures, which involve objective measurement of weight, height, blood pressure, and physical activity.
  3. Assist with orientation and informed consent visits.
  4. Help to develop weight management intervention materials and intervention delivery.
  5. Assist with data management efforts.
  6. Attend staff meetings.
  7. Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in health sciences or social sciences equivalent.
  2. Experience with data entry, word processing, or related computer skills.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with colleagues and with the general public.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  5. Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail / conscientiousness.
  6. Ability to work evening hours as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience with clinical research.
  2. Experience with developing and working in tracking systems such as Qualtrics.
  3. Experience using statistical software such as SPSS or SAS.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position based on available funding and subject to annual renewal. Salary will be commensurate with successful candidate's background and experience. Screening of applications will begin immediately. The University offers outstanding medical and retirement benefits.
