Alumni Relations Coordinator, Hartford (Program Coordinator), UCP 5 REPOSTED RE


The School of Business Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a full-time Alumni Relations Coordinator (Program Coordinator, UCP 5). The incumbent will report to the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and will coordinate the planning, organizing and delivery of alumni relations programs, services and events for the School of Business in Greater Hartford. The position will be based at the Graduate Business Learning Center in downtown Hartford. Occasional weekend and evenings, as well as occasional in-state and out-of-state travel, will be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinating, planning, developing and implementing alumni and School of Business events, programs and services including related on site event management as necessary for panel discussions, networking events, reunions, banquets, social events, lifelong learning presentations, seminars, conferences, and signature events.
  • Cultivating, building, and documenting strong relationships and maintaining extensive contact with School of Business alumni, students and business leaders in Greater Hartford and beyond to promote their interest in supporting the School and the University.
  • Coordinating the design, schedule, and production of online and print registration materials, announcements and related planning for alumni events.
  • Developing, managing and promoting th department's alumni and student engagement programs in Greater Hartford.
  • Preparing, processing and maintaining purchase orders and related fiscal records of expenditures and income.
  • Assisting with the development of and implementing the School's social media strategy.
  • Reviewing and maintaining departmental and school event and program content on the various school and university calendars, web pages, and systems.
  • Assisting in developing, writing and producing informational and promotional materials for print and electronic distribution to School of Business alumni, donors, students and friends.
  • Building and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the School's academic program directors to anticipate, respond to and implement programmatic initiatives that would benefit from alumni support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and three to four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including experience identifying and resolving administrative and day-to-day problems, prioritizing and time management.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to plan and organize events/programs/outreach campaigns appropriate to alumni, donors, community members and/or corporate contacts.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating and maintaining excellent interpersonal professional relationships and working effectively with various stakeholders, including team members.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and use sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours and travel in-state and out-of-state as necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree and three to five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of policies, procedures and program of AACSB-accredited schools of business, alumni associations and development offices.
  • Experience in alumni and relationship building in a business school setting.
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort assisting with donor solicitation strategies, cultivation and stewardship.
  • Demonstrated experience with programs such as E-Touches/Aventri, MailChimp, Canva, Abobe Photoshop, Adobe DreamWeaver, Adobe InDesign and Aurora/WordPress.
  • Demonstrated experience using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook in a professional capacity.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time position based in downtown Hartford with a salary in the low 50s. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be commensurate with the individual's qualifications
