Applications are currently being accepted for a Senior Human Resources Technician in the Employment & Professional Development Department within the Human Resources Division, located at the District Administrative Offices. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Please note: Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

This particular assignment within the general classification of Senior Human Resources Technician is located in the HR Employment & Professional Development Department. This position is responsible for assisting the Director with the administration of the organizations training & development activities, related special event planning, and coordinating the budget for the program. The position works directly with a broad range of San Diego Community College District employee classifications, external leadership training facilitators, instructors, and suppliers of goods and services necessary to the program. As part of the overall Department team, this position may also be utilized, as needed, to assist the Employment Office with selected recruitment responsibilities, however the primary focus will be to assist in the growing Professional Development Program.Seeking strong skills, knowledge and abilities in: Positive customer service external & internal; Efficient organization of all matters relating to an office environment electronic and paper documents, files, data, processes, deadlines, budget, reports, and resources; Effective learning, and strong abilities to adapt, remain flexible and utilize proprietary computer programs, evolving systems and procedures; Confident and capable approach to new and innovative ideas and creative planning strategies; Cooperative and professional interpersonal relationships at all times; Timely and thorough communication as needed and demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication; Strong ability and experience in multi-tasking, managing details, as well as follow up and follow through; Successful professional experience working in a group environment for identified training and development outcomes; Successful experience coordinating special event activities that incorporates factors such as location, catering, materials, guests and hosts; Interest about, and some level of knowledge and experience in, budgetary matters to include budget development and monitoring, purchase order and voucher creation, invoice payments, and fund transfers; Proven abilities in working collaboratively, taking direction, independent thinking, self-motivation and self-discipline, responsiveness and progressive attitude.

Pay Information:
Range 26 ($4,029.14 $6,431.42) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
