Clinical Professor/Executive Director, Boehly Ctr

The Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance (The Center) at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business, William and Mary, seeks applications for a clinical faculty position at either the assistant or associate professor rank to serve as the Executive Director, Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance. This is a non-tenured faculty position that begins in Spring 2019.


The Center benefits from an exceptionally talented and motivated student body, offering students a vastly enriching experience as they prepare for careers of principled achievement in finance. Leadership opportunities for members include our five student-run clubs: the Howard J. Busbee Finance Academy, the Financial Modeling Club, the Mason Investment Club, Women in Business and Smart Woman Securities. In addition, the Center offers advanced financial training, career exploration, networking and experiential learning through financial firm-sponsored competitions and through industry leader- and dedicated faculty-taught courses. The Center capitalizes on William & Mary’s small size by offering uniquely personalized programs, including alumni mentor matching and advising.
The Executive Director will continue the legacy of the Center that established its reputation for innovation through several successful initiatives, including the first finance-focused summer study abroad program in Singapore, the Women’s Stock Pitch Competition and Leadership Summit, the annual Invictus Challenge Case Competition and the creation of new practitioner-led courses.


The Executive Director will provide vision, leadership and teaching to support students through a vastly enriched experience as they prepare for careers in finance working closely with Mason’s Leadership Team, fellow faculty members, the Foundation Board, donors and financial professionals to extend, refine and execute the Boehly Center’s vision, strategy and action plan. This is an especially relationship-intensive faculty role with the need to engage and involve alumni, especially Todd and Katie Boehly. Periodic travel to New York and elsewhere is required.


The Executive Director is responsible for developing and managing the human and financial resources necessary to make the Boehly Center a thriving, financially-sustainable entity and a distinctive asset for the Mason School of Business and the College of William and Mary, by continuing the huge popularity and success of the Center’s courses and student experiences.

 

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a Master’s Degree or combination of education and experience in the financial industry and/or faculty role, with demonstrated team-building and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who are/were leaders and have substantial experience in managing and directing companies.
