Technical Associate I, Spranger Lab

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research , to work in a highly motivated team in the Spranger Laboratory, developing and investigating the tumor-immune microenvironment of lung cancer following therapeutic perturbation. Primary responsibilities will include set-up, oversight, and take-down of lung cancer studies in murine models. This work will include genotyping, tumor induction, drug administration, and endpoint analysis including flow cytometry. Will work closely with the lab manager and a postdoctoral researcher.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : a B.S./B.A. in biological sciences or a relevant field; experience in one or more of the following technical areas--genotyping of mice, immunology, flow cytometry, or immunohistochemistry; experience in a research laboratory; at least two years' specialized lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); experience working with technical instruments/equipment; comfort summarizing and reporting results to researchers; demonstrated commitment to exceeding quality standards and producing accurate and high-quality work; strong organizational skills; practiced documentation skills; ability to multitask and organize multiple experiments simultaneously; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; strong time management and communication skills; demonstrated problem solving skills; ability to learn quickly; willingness to learn new tools and techniques; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and awareness of basic safety issues and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Relevant experience with FACS and genetically engineered mouse models preferred. Job #16156
