Job Description Summary

The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University, invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer position in Pharmacology. Responsibilities will include assistance in the acquisition and preparation of high quality multi-species teaching materials used in the the professional/graduate curricula and participation in professional development. The individual will participate in team teaching general pharmacology (1st and 2nd year) and will be encouraged to participate in rounds in the 4th year clinical rotations. This will include but not be limited to preparation of lectures and in class activities, preparation and grading of activities, including examinations, and preparation of instructional grant applications. Responsibilities may include support of the therapeutic drug monitoring service of the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Pharmacology or an allied field in biomedical sciences and/or DVM ; preference will be given to candidates with a DVM or comparable degree and individuals with experience in clinical pharmacology. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin, and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills are required.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in teaching of pharmacology or clinical pharmacology of domestic species with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the university level is desired. Individuals with an interest in interactive, technology-rich and evidence-based teaching and those who have pursued opportunities for professional development in this area will be desired.
