Addictions Therapist-Lindner Center of Hope

The Lindner Center of Hope, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Addiction Therapist Clinical Counselor.

Position Summary: This individual will provide assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapies, in the Addictions IOP program 3 evenings a week. Also provides service in the Medication Assisted Treatment program, and Outpatient Substance Use program, while meeting all standards of practice as required by Ohio MHAS.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provides individual and group medication assisted treatment to adults receiving outpatient treatment.
  2. Addresses clinical case dispositions assignments including patient transfers, referrals and discharges.
  3. Completes treatment plans and progress notes for all assigned patients.
  4. Participates in or provides clinical information regarding patients at treatment team meetings.
  5. Meets with the Utilization Review staff to update assigned patients regarding clinical status.
  6. Works with Quality and Compliance Coordinator and Supervisor of Outpatient Addiction Services to insure documentation compliance with Ohio MHAS.
  7. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA, policies, documentation guidelines, and other related regulatory requirements.
  8. Facilitates Addictions IOP sessions, including group therapy, individual assessments and individual therapy.
  9. Completes treatment plans, progress notes. Ensures client outcomes are completed
  10. May provide services on the residential units, including group facilitation, individual sessions and assessments.


Position Qualifications:
  1. Ohio Licensure as a LPCC, or LISW.In addition, having LICDC certification is preferred.
  2. Must have 5 years' experience providing treatment to individuals with addictions and mental health illnesses.
  3. Experience providing medication assisted treatment to persons with substance use disorders in a social service/mental health environment
  4. Experience working in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient settings.
  5. Experience conducting intensive therapy and case management.
  6. Knowledge of crisis intervention, multicultural and socio-economic issues.
  7. Basic advocacy skills. Ability to utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make sound decisions.
  8. Strong written and oral communication skills. Computer skills including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  9. Ability to work evening hours during the week as programming dictates..Ability to work periodic Saturdays.
  10. Demonstrates the knowledge and skillsnecessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for thespectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
  11. Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
