Qualifications:
A Doctoral degree in related field is required by the position start date. Expertise in one or more of the
following areas is required: Manufacturing Automation, Robotics Assembly and Manufacturing
Operations, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Lean
Manufacturing, and Sustainable Manufacturing. Industry experience, prior teaching, the ability to
support laboratory development, and teaching of experimental activities are highly desirable. The
successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for teaching, scholarly excellence, service, and
working with industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Applicants should
demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural population as might
have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will establish a research program related to his/her field of interest. Faculty
members at SJSU are expected to participate in department, college, and university committee and
other service assignments. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity
- in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation - through course
materials, teaching strategies and advisement.

Salary Range:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date: August 17, 2018
