Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization
in aerospace structures and materials. Applicants should demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of
a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable
experience.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to (a) teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of
specialization, (b) develop laboratory experiments to support teaching and research, (c) supervise graduate and
undergraduate student projects, (d) advise graduate and undergraduate students, (e) participate in departmental, college,
university, and professional service activities, and (f) engage in peer-reviewed scholarly work. Aerospace Engineering
faculty members are expected to collaborate with each other as well as with other faculty within and outside the College
for course and curriculum design, course and program assessment, and other scholarly pursuits. The candidate must
address the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and
academic preparation - through course materials, teaching strategies, and advising.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date: August 17, 2018

The AE Department offers two degree-programs: an MSAE program with an approximate enrollment of 70 and an ABET- accredited BSAE program with an approximate enrollment of 320. Our programs are well known for providing a hands- on engineering education; most of our courses are offered as lecture/lab. AE faculty and students are involved in a variety of projects, many with industry collaboration. The College is the leading provider of engineers to Silicon Valley industry.
