Description
The Department of Business and Public Service at Gordon State College is looking for a dynamic instructor with experience in Business Information Technology. Primary responsibilities include teaching sections of Introduction to Business Computer Systems, Management Information Systems, and other courses in support of a BS in Management and Administration in classroom and online settings; engaging in appropriate institutional service; and developing an active program of professional development.

The Department
The Department of Business and Public Service offers associate degrees in business administration, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, and information technology. Baccalaureate degree programs include Management and Administration, and Human Services.

The College
Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, in 2006 Gordon State College was named a state college and asked to develop selected four-year programs to address critical state needs. In May 2009, the College graduated its first baccalaureate class of 27 early childhood education majors. In Fall 2010, the College implemented baccalaureate majors in nursing, mathematics, and biology, and in Fall 2011, baccalaureate programs in history and English were launched. Health Services and Information Administration was added in 2012, Human Services was implemented in fall of 2013, and a baccalaureate degree in Management and Administration was begun in 2015. Gordon State College currently serves approximately 4000 students with approximately 120 full-time faculty.

The Community
The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia. Located approximately one hour south of Atlanta, students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center and an international airport.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

Applicants must have a DBA or PhD in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (ABD with impending dissertation defense considered); ability to teach effectively both online and in the classroom; relate to students; and facilitate student learning. Special consideration is given to candidates with college-level teaching experience.

Candidates should also have excellent communication, organizational skills, computer skills, and knowledge of instructional technology.
