Coordinator of Student Activities and Student Leadership

This position is responsible for the creation and execution of programs and services that support, challenge, and enhance student engagement through the development and implementation of student leadership activities. The Coordinator will also provide assistance to major campus events such as Orientation, Welcome Week Activities, Taste of Elmhurst, Homecoming, Presidential Ball, Winter Weekend, and other activities that support the mission and goals of Student Affairs and the College.

Salary Grade
Essential Functions
• Develop and coordinate a comprehensive leadership program including leadership workshops and activities.
• Coordinate the Women's luncheon and Electrify student leadership conference.
• Supervise the scheduling and training of student managers and student workers in the Office of Student Activities, Student Organization Center and Frick Center Information Desk.
• Assist with cross divisional activities and communication as it pertains to activities (Senior Send-Off, The Power of Pink, etc.).
• Administer Engage (student organization platform).
• Facilitate training for all student organizations once a semester ( SORT ).
• Coordinate the Taste of Elmhurst and the Vendor Fairs.
• Coordinate the Vendor tables throughout the year.
• Assist with maintenance of student organization leader's directory, including coordination of data entry into college information management systems. (Colleague).
• Supports student activity fees budget execution for registered student organization ( RSO ) accounts.
• Co-Advise the Cooperative Funding committee.
• Co-manage the operations of the Frick Center, the Information Desk and Game Room, including the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of student staff.
• Develop, implement and assess an on-going training program for all student employees to ensure job competence, quality customer service and student learning.
• Supervise the registration, training, advisor training, and roster management for registered student organizations.
• Oversee the equipment and sound system request system.
• Create weekly campus involvement news blasts.
• Administer the Emergency loan program.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of departmental budget.
• Educate and encourage student responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
• On occasion, serve as a hearing officer for non-Greek related matters (student conduct, Title IX).
• Maintain professional conduct and ethical behavior at all times.
• Serves on College and divisional committees as assigned.
• Develop an assessment strategy to collect data that evaluates the performance of programs and links information to the College's overall mission.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master's Degree preferred in Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of graduate assistant experience in student leadership. development; or one year of professional experience.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships, and build consensus and support.
• Demonstrated experience with and sensitivity to individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to a diverse community.
• Ability to develop leadership opportunities for students.
• Capability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and attention to detail.
• Ability to function within a team environment and collaborate with others.
• Excellent verbal, written and technological communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends when necessary).

Preferred Qualifications
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.

Work Hours
The position requires office hours during the day, and evening and weekend responsibilities.
