Special Instructions to Applicant:
The Department is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors for possible openings in teaching lecture and laboratory sections of courses in the Physical Sciences. These and other openings may become available for the Summer semester 2013 and beyond. Potential needs include: General Chemistry I and II, Introduction to Physical Science, Introduction to Astronomy, Introduction to Earth Science, General Physics I and II. In addition, Introduction to Physical Science to be taught on the Auburn Main Campus as part of the Seamless enrollment program.

Adjunct Faculty are part-time faculty teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in the core and specialty curriculum of the discipline. The Adjunct Faculty member performs duties relating to instruction including, but not limited to: teaching assigned courses based upon the syllabus and the posted faculty expectations, participating in classroom discussion, grading assignments and promptly responding to student inquiries. Adjunct faculty positions are assigned on a term-to-term basis.

Ability to perform successfully the professional duties assigned
Ability to demonstrate academic ability.

Candidates for undergraduate positions must possess a Master's Degree in the teaching discipline, or have a Master's Degree in any related discipline and 18 graduate semester hours (30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

Candidates for graduate positions must hold a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in the teaching discipline.
