Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and maintain the mathematics laboratory; order and organize lab materials.

Lead mathematics laboratory instruction for designated courses; assist with other mathematics laboratory instruction.

Proctor web based placement testing exams.

Maintain the overall physical condition of the mathematics lab related to effective instruction; hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time laboratory employees; assign work and work schedules; schedule laboratory components of courses with faculty; coordinate laboratories for classes and non-instructional use.

Design, develop, and implement strategies for laboratory instructional improvement.

Develop, recommend, and monitor approved mathematics laboratory budget; coordinate purchases; advice supervisor regarding maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment, supplies and capital expenses.

Maintain computer hardware; promote technical support and confidence; configure, update, and install software.

Provide classroom instruction as necessary.

Knowledge of acceptable mathematics laboratory instruction, equipment, operations, and procedures
Knowledge of mathematical concepts and advanced application methods
Knowledge of acceptable instruction techniques

Ability to operate mathematics laboratory equipment safely
Ability to evaluate the effective use of laboratory equipment
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to make written and oral presentations
Ability to apply acceptable supervisory practices
Ability to instruct others

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mathematics or related field and two (2) years of applied experience in mathematics. Experience in teaching mathematics for elementary education, developmental mathematics or credit core courses is desirable. The successful candidates will have a commitment to service at both the departmental and university levels.
