The Fletcher School s Office of Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing (CPRM) serves to effectively and consistently 1) promote the mission 2) protect and enhance the reputation and unique identity and 3) advance the vision of The Fletcher School at Tufts University through the development and engagement of strategic public relations, marketing and web communications initiatives.
The Office of Communications & Public Relations supports The Fletcher School s efforts to recruit the world s top students, to attract financial support for academic programs and financial aid, and promote the expertise and research of its award-winning, world-renowned faculty, alumni and students. Its personnel work in a fast-paced, innovative, and proactive environment to carry out the goals and mission of the office to put Fletcher at the center of best practice in PR and Communications in academia.
The Communications & Public Relations Specialist executes communications strategies that promote the goals and mission of the department, school or division. S/he develops high-quality, effective print materials and messaging, including researching and writing effective communications pieces. S/he creates design and layout of publications, researches, recommends and implements communications and marketing projects and strategies, develops design and content for website, and develops content and strategies for social media communications. This individual evaluates and reports on effectiveness of communications strategies and recommends changes or improvements. S/he monitors budgets, provides guidance to support staff, students and temporary workers and coordinates work with outside vendors and consultants on projects.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in related area of study or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of professional communications experience.
- Advanced degree and experience in education or non-profit setting preferred.
