Job Description Summary
The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University, invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer position in Gross Anatomy and Neurosciences. Responsibilities will include assistance in the acquisition and preparation of high quality multi-species teaching materials used in the professional/graduate curricula and participation in professional development. For Gross Anatomy, the individual will participate in team teaching gross anatomy (including anatomy of the dog, cat, horse, ruminant, pig and avian species), preparation and grading of exams, and preparation of instructional grant applications. For Neurosciences, the individual will participate in team teaching of neurosciences (including neuroanatomy, neurohistology, neurophysiology, and clinical application of neuroscience), preparation and grading of exams, and preparation of instructional grant applications.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a PhD in anatomy and/or neurosciences or an allied field in biomedical sciences and/or DVM . The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin, and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills are required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in teaching anatomy and neurosciences of domestic species with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the university level is desired.
