Senior Research Compliance Coordinator

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Research Compliance ( AVP -RC), the Senior Research Compliance Coordinator ( SRCC ) serves as a liaison to the University's IACUC and IBC and provides programmatic support to each. This position facilitates faculty submission of materials to these committees as required by each committee and coordinates interactions between committees and government agencies, performs initial review of submitted materials, develops and maintains a protocol tracking database including management of and ensuring accuracy of records, completes post-approval monitoring audits of IACUC and IBC protocols, and provides content for the compliance web pages. This position will also support the routine function of the committees by coordinating meetings, preparing meeting minutes and agendas, informing faculty of the status of pending research protocols, and assisting the AVP -RC with planning and implementing educational and training programs for faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in related field (e.g. biological sciences, animal sciences, public health) or a bachelor's degree with experience equivalent to a master's degree. Several years of professional work experience. Ability to analyze written material and apply what is learned to an analysis of current University policy and/or a review of a pending proposal. Ability to coordinate meetings, prepare professional correspondence, and use computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. General knowledge of federal regulations related to the conduct of university-based research. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with a range of audiences including university administrators, faculty, federal and other state agencies, industry representatives, and other individuals interacting with the university research enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience as an administrator in a research or other technical environment. Experience working in a university environment.
