Summary of Position The Public Safety Officer is the principal university agent responsible for carrying out the police functions of the Ferris State University Department of Public Safety. These functions include protection of life and property, preservation of the peace and good order of the university community and the furnishing of various services to enhance and smooth university operations.

Required Education A minimum of an Associate's Degree is required; or the agreement to complete an Associate's Degree within two years of the date of hire.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is desirable. Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
