The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bucknell University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the area of geotechnical engineering, starting in August 2018. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field at time of appointment.

Applications must include a Bucknell-specific cover letter, teaching statement (2 page maximum), research statement (2 page maximum), and current curriculum vitae.

1. Articulate your plans to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction in introductory and upper-level geotechnical engineering courses;
2. Describe how you will be able to contribute more broadly to the civil engineering curriculum by teaching core civil engineering courses, such as numerical methods, graphics, or engineering materials;
3. Describe your commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy and any relevant experience, expertise, or plans in these areas.
