Facilities and Grounds Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Facilities & Grounds Coordinator at Reynolds Homestead is responsible for following facility and maintenance plans to ensure proper maintenance of the Community Enrichment Center and the preservation of the historic Rock Spring Plantation. This position is responsible for maintaining the facility, buildings, gardens and grounds, keeping the grounds well-manicured and safe, maintaining all grounds maintenance equipment, cleaning facilities and making minor repairs as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment, and assisting with event set-up and breakdown as required to meet program needs. This part-time position (30 hours weekly) will report to the Office Manager. Hours may vary depending on program schedule.
The Facilities & Grounds Coordinator works with the Office Manager to coordinate and implement short term, and long-range plans related to the maintenance of facilities and grounds, ensuring the historic Rock Spring Plantation grounds are maintained in a manner that is historically accurate, and will be responsible for ensuring grounds are manicured, and facilities are cleaned and prepared for event rentals and other activities. This position will assist the Facility Services Assistant with facility housekeeping and maintenance and event set-up as needed. Additionally, the Facilities & Grounds Coordinator will work with staff in the Forestry Research Center to coordinate community service projects on the Reynolds Homestead property.

Required Qualifications:
Requirements include experience maintaining facilities and grounds for clean and safe operation; excellent organization and communication skills; basic computer skills. Must be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs. and must be able to operate maintenance equipment, including riding mower, push mower, weed eater, vacuum cleaner, and floor buffers. Must be able to perform physical labor for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and implementing facility maintenance plans; experience supervising staff and volunteers.
