Full-Stack Developer

Position Summary:
The Virginia Cyber Range is seeking DevOps Engineer and Full-Stack Developer talent to develop, maintain, and support the software and infrastructure for the Virginia Cyber Range. These full-time positions are located in Blacksburg, VA. The positions require experience with JavaScript-based programming principles and experience using the Node.js runtime environment, experience developing with Docker container technologies, a solid understanding of Linux system administration principles, and working with serverless technologies in a cloud-based infrastructure.
The successful candidates will apply specialized knowledge and concepts to the completion of assigned projects to meet the needs and requirements of the Virginia Cyber Range. Projects will range from designing, developing, and troubleshooting purpose-built microservices architecture components to assisting with automating cloud infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency, while delivering a production-level service to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Responsibilities will range from working independently on multiple complex projects to serving as a technical consultant or project lead. May provide consultation and advice on major implementations ensuring that services are available and accessible.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field from accredited college or university and/or equivalent training and experience.
- Proficiency with current server-side technologies such as Docker (and related tools) and Git
- Experience with back-end JavaScript development frameworks such as Node.js
- Comfortable working with modern interpreted/compiled scripting/real languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Node.js, Java, C etc) to automate and provide solutions to business problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with life-cycle management, systems health and security monitoring to identify system failures, bottleneck, or intrusions
- Demonstrated experience working with TypeScript in a mixed Javascript environment
- Demonstrated experience working within a CI/CD software development pipeline.
- High-level understanding of Amazon AWS services and offerings
- Amazon AWS certifications such as DevOps and/or Solutions Architect Associate/Pro levels
- Extensive experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef etc.
- Specialized technical knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB etc
