Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Tenure T

Job Summary/Basic Function:	Description Primary responsibilities will include classroom, on-line, and clinical teaching in a baccalaureate degree nursing program that encompasses both the pre-licensure BSN and the RN-BSN. The position puts emphasis on medical-surgical nursing, community, leadership, role transition, on-line teaching for RN-BSN program, engagement in appropriate institutional/community service, and maintaining an active program of scholarly professional development. Background Check Employment is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen which are pre-clinical requirements and conditions of employment. The School The School of Nursing and Health Sciences houses faculty in nursing and health information management. There are 19 full-time nursing faculty members who deliver an Associate Science in Nursing and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. The Bachelor of Science Department houses the RN-BSN, which is an established program that is on-line, and a pre-licensure BSN that is starting in Fall 2017. The School also has a BS in Health Information Management. The College Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, Gordon State College was named a state college in 2006 and asked to develop selected four year programs to address critical state needs. Since that time, many baccalaureate programs have been developed and initiated, two of which are the RN-BSN and BSN programs. Gordon State College serves more than 3300 students with the good work of full- and part-time faculty. The Community The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia, a lovely town located an hour south of Atlanta, and 45 minutes northeast of Macon. Students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center and an international airport.

Preferred Qualifications:	• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical • Previous teaching experience in a BSN or RN-BSN program and on-line teaching experience • Doctorate in an appropriate discipline to support a nursing curriculum
