Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Manager in Technology Services, the Project Manager is responsible for directing, managing and supporting projects from concept through to implementation.

The Project Manager will direct projects for replacement, conversion, implementation, and upgrades for mission-critical business applications as well as provide research and analytical supports on large scale/enterprise wide initiatives as well as for smaller scale initiates managed by the incumbent.

Essential Functions:
Project Management -
  • Assemble teams, coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Develop project charters in accordance with project vision.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, schedules and timelines using standard project management methodologies.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Drive configuration decisions; coordinates testing, design and overview training plans, documenting, and launching software.
  • Articulate project scope and control project requirements to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with the desired functionality.
  • Craft executive level and campus-wide communications.
  • Liaise with IT and process owners to ensure successful outcomes.

Business Analysis -
  • Assist customers with the creation of the business case.
  • Lead requirements gathering, and Request for Proposal (RFP) and purchasing processes.
  • Deploy advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing data requirements.
  • Create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups to assist with communications and clarity.
  • Continuous problem solving.
  • Assist with strategic planning and policy improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Service design following ITIL best practices.
  • Consult on technologies/ strategies with College resources on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform quality assurance.
  • Define reporting and alerting requirements
  • Help design, document and maintain system processes.

Subject Matter Expertise -
  • Provide consultation on prior software projects, particularly around upgrades, configuration changes, additions to scope or user populations, or to assist in emergency triage.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree plus relevant professional experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a project manager and/or business analyst
  • Experience working in higher education, government or healthcare institutions preferred
  • PMP or other Project Management certification a plus
  • Demonstrated experience of working in technical projects including implementation, scoping, and requirement analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
