Position Summary:

The Assistant Vice President for Student Services serves as a leader in the area of student engagement and success and fosters an appreciation of diversity through oversight of programming and services that enhance the student learning experience. The position exists to provide leadership and oversight management for the following departments: Office of Disability Services, Office of Student Engagement and Support, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and TRiO Student Support Services. Additionally, the Assistant Vice President for Student Services investigates and adjudicates student discipline issues, insures compliance with providing preventive education for students especially in the areas of sexual misconduct, and alcohol and drug use and also assists with Title IX investigations involving students. The position also assists the Vice President for Student Services with management of the Division overall.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction for the Office of Disability Services, the Office of Student Engagement and Support, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, TRiO Student Support Services, and Career Services.



Serve as primary student judicial officer for the College and a Title IX designated investigator.



Manage information about the student conduct policies and procedures to include statistical reports and revisions to the Student Disciplinary policy.



Chair Behavioral Intervention Team.



Train Ad Hoc Committee on Discipline and Academic Integrity Committee concerning disciplinary hearing procedures.



Educate students, faculty and staff on policies and procedures on student discipline and student rights through implementation of a formal training program.



Work with other divisions and departments of the College to insure that appropriate protocol are in place relative to the safety of students.



Respond to emergency situations involving students as needed and serve as the contact person for the student and campus personnel to insure that student needs are met.



Provide vision and leadership for all aspects of a comprehensive approach to student engagement.



Lead initiatives to integrate career readiness functions into the Student Services division.



Provide oversight for review of Student Services policies and Student Handbook as well as the continuous improvement efforts across the division.



Develop and manage assigned budgets which includes working with direct reports to develop and manage an annual budget that is aligned with the College's mission and strategic plan.



Act in the place of the Vice President for Student Services in his/her absence.



Represent the Division of Student Services and the College at functions on and off campus.



Serves on the Executive Council and other committees as appropriate.



Assist the Vice President with the development of the annual Division of Student Services budget, development and implementation of the Division Assessment Plan as well as professional development programs for all staff.



Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Masters Degree. Five (5) years experience in management and supervision demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, professional experience and leadership in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctorate. Five (5) years experience in a community college setting and in Student Services.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Experience with developing and implementing student engagement plans and programming. Experience with college campus discipline and/or behavior intervention. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization skills along with being detailed oriented.

Pay Rate: 70,010.00 - 84,885.00 annual salary depending on experience
