Working Title Asst Dir-Athletics & Director of Philanthropy

Job Summary

Eastern Washington University is currently seeking an
Assistant Director-Athletics & Director of Philanthropy.
This position will plan, coordinate and execute comprehensive fundraising efforts for Eastern Washington University at the Major Gift level of $10,000 and above. The employee will identify priority goals and work with University leadership, including Deans, to articulate these initiatives and cultivate donors for support. They will work with areas of annual giving, planned giving and athletics to support donor initiatives. The employee will write and present proposals that best reflect the interests of the donors. This work primarily includes alumni and friends of the university with some interaction with corporations and foundations. The employee will participate as directed in the recognition and stewardship programs as gifts are received and they will manage and maintain donor contact reports through proprietary donor contact software.
Travel is required for donor visits, primarily utilizing personal vehicle for visits in Eastern Washington region. Mileage reimbursement per state rates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree



  • Two or more years of professional work experience in fundraising work, familiarity with non-profit organizations and/or related experience.



  • Two or more years of experience marketing an organization and/or its events utilizing traditional and modern marketing techniques.



  • Valid drivers license.



  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education fundraising or development.
