Associate Director

Position Summary:
The Associate Director reports to the Director and is responsible for providing senior, strategic-level leadership regarding all aspects of the Cranwell International Center, while providing direct day-to-day oversight, supervision, and operational management for three core functional units within CIC (Advocacy and Support, Campus and Community Engagement, and Immigration and Advising), including ensuring effective and efficient alignment, integration, and coordination between them. The Associate Director will represent the Director and act in full capacity as the Director at the Director's request and/or in the Director's absence.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education administration, public administration, public policy, business administration, law, or related field
    •Considerable years of experience working in an international office in a university setting, including serving as PDSO / DSO and RO/ ARO
  • US citizenship or US lawful permanent resident status required in order to secure access to the US Department of Homeland Security's Student & Exchange Visitor Information System and serve as PDSO / DSO and RO/ ARO
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, development, implementation, and assessment of international student support programs and services, including but not limited to orientation and/or transition program(s)
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team setting
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity
  • Expert knowledge of federal regulations related to international students
  • Experience presenting and/or delivering training
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population
  • Excellent intercultural and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive years of experience working in an international office in a university setting, including serving as PDSO / DSO and RO/ ARO
  • Demonstrated experience with Sunapsis
  • Demonstrated experience with Banner
  • Fluency in a foreign language
  • Experience living and/or studying abroad
