Working Title Fiscal Specialist 1 - Project

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Fiscal Specialist 1 - Project position.
Under general supervision prepare and process gifts and deposits for EWU Foundation performing rapid data retrieval, modification, and entry tasks on Sage Software's Millennium database. Provide information on and interpret Foundation procedures, policies, donor recognition principles, CASE (Council for Advancement and Support to Education), and IRS regulations on gifts. Run and modify reports on Millennium. *This position is funded through June 2020._

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and sit as needed for office and computer work.

  • Wrist and hand movements required as needed for keyboarding.

  • Ability to be mobile campus wide for appropriate business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years education or experience with financial or other detailed record keeping

  • Numeric aptitude; detail oriented

  • Problem solving abilities; process oriented

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or knowledge of

    • Cash controls, reconciliation techniques, audit trails

    • Ability to interpret complex and conflicting regulations

    • Excellent verbal communication skills

    • Millennium software

    • Higher Education in gift processing






Other Skills and Abilities:

Pluses:



  • Knowledge of IRS regulations on charitable giving

  • Knowledge or experience with report writing techniques

  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet software (Word and Excel preferred)
