Health and Human Performance (Social Dance), Full-Time Temporary Faculty

The Department of Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University ( MTSU ) invites applications for a full-time temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#118060) for Social Dance at the rank of Lecturer. This is a one year position with possible annual renewal for up to three years total. Start date for this position is August 1, 2018.

Must have understanding of the breadth and depth of social dance training and be able to teach a variety of dance techniques including the following dance genres: Merengue, Swing, Salsa, Tango, etc. Must be able to teach throughout the entire day and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Successful candidate will be supervising Physical Education student teachers and will need to travel to teaching sites each semester.

Required Education
Masters in Health and Human Performance or closely related field.

Required Related Experience
Three years teaching experience in dance, movement arts.

Required License/Registration/Certification
Applicants with instructional experience at the university level; professional training in various social dances; or those with the ability to teach a variety of physical activity and physical education courses, including team and individual games will receive special consideration.
