Director of Student Financial Services

Develop and administer an array of financial service strategies and programs. Collaborate with other administrators and campus leadership to formulate and administer a broad range of policies and procedures related to financial aid and student finance. Conceive and implement assessment strategies to ensure that student financial processes are cost-effective in meeting primary objectives. Supervise professional and support staff in counseling and providing financial services to students and parents. Ensure timely and efficient delivery of services and oversees quality control, compliance and system integrity for the department. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and promote effective stewardship of institutional funds.

Essential Functions
-Hires, trains and supervises all Student Financial Services personnel.
-Directs the operation of the Student Financial Services Office to include development and implementation of policies and procedures, budget preparation, staff training and long and short range planing.
-Coordinates the administration of all facets of student financial programs to include institutional scholarships, state and federal grants and loans, student aid from private sources and student employment programs.
-Coordinates staff effort to responding to all financial aid applications, collection of materials, needs analysis, packaging and award notifications.
- Coordinates staff effort in providing accurate billing for tuition, fees, room, meal plans, travel course expenses and other miscellaneous campus charges as they are delivered.
-Maintains statistical data and monitors all aid expenditures.
-Prepares required federal, state and institutional reports needed to continue participation in federal and state aid programs and operate within institutional budget limits.
-Develops and conducts student financial presentations, as a resource person, on campus hosted by the Office of Admission for prospective students/parents. Participates in outreach activities, such as New Student Outreach and High School Parent workshops.
-Maintains continual lines of communication with other campus offices which are significantly affected by the financial aid program and the billing and collection of tuition and fees.

Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or higher required.
-Broad knowledge of federal financial aid programs and required recordkeeping.
-General knowledge of accounting practices, data processing and computer applications.
-Knowledge of higher education processes, supervisory and personnel practices and communication techniques.
-Management and communication skills (verbal and writing) are highly desirable.
-Able to work independently to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work in sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
