Donor Relations Assistant - Stewardship and Donor Relations, University Advance

Tufts University's Office of Stewardship & Donor Relations establishes stewardship programs and consistent protocols across the university for acknowledging, recognizing, celebrating, and communicating with donors about the impact of their investments. Through its activities, the Office of Stewardship & Donor Relations builds and nurtures the university s relationship with its donors and prepares them for future giving.

This position will provide support to the Office of Stewardship and Donor Relations as they plan and execute recognition and appreciation activities for the university s top donors. Department support activities range from coordinating annual stewardship mailings and gift acknowledgment letters; designing and producing stewardship reports; database entry; planning logistics for donor and departmental meetings; assisting with the annual scholarship luncheon; providing general administrative support for the department, including assisting with the management of the department's budget.

Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and 2-4 years of administrative experience OR college degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, editing, graphics, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
  • Bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.:
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills is strongly preferred.
  • Administrative experience/office support is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a database is strongly preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in fundraising/development in a higher education or nonprofit setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience and/or interest in publication design and using Adobe programs is highly desirable.
  • This position requires managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. A high degree of professionalism and discretion is required as it will involve working with and/or projects related to donors, trustees, university administration, and students, as well as colleagues in various departments on campus.
