Electrical and Systems Engineer

Position Summary:
Electrical and Systems Engineer provides electronic and information technology support in a team environment to Industrial and Systems Engineering ( ISE ) faculty, staff, and labs. Position responsibilities include design, installation, repair, modification, and maintaining computer and electronic equipment to support ISE research and instructional activities. This position also analyzes, designs, and monitors computer and physical security for the department and labs. Analyzes, designs, and monitors computer and network systems based on user and department needs; tracks and maintains accurate records for all ISE equipment; assists faculty/staff in understanding and using new information technology; and serves as ISE facilities and asset manager.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent training and/or work experience.
- Must possess computer system knowledge, skills and abilities such as a focus on PC platforms, network systems, network security, user needs analysis, computer system configuration and hardware specification, risk assessment, computer and network system planning, server and systems management, machine tool equipment, analog and digital circuits, and instrumentation.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with a variety of individuals in a technical field on a daily basis.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge and/or experience with 480VAC, 3 phase and below.
- Experience working in university setting.
- Experience managing facilities and equipment inventories.
