The purpose of the laboratory is to improve understanding of how the diet impacts bone and muscle health and improves overall health and function in older adults.
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include cryosectioning, immunohistochemical/immunofluorescent staining, fluorescent microscopy, histology analysis using applications such as Image J and Photoshop, performing assays, and other laboratory techniques. May also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Immunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy.
- Knowledge of Image J and Photoshop.
