Coordinator for Student Athlete Success, Inclusion and Leadership

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, two-year internship position funded through the NCAA Division III Internship Program.

The Coordinator for Student Athlete Success, Inclusion and Leadership will work to administer all aspects of leadership and personal development education and training to support Wheaton College student athletes achieve the highest levels of academic, athletic and personal growth.

Responsibilities of the Coordinator for Student Athlete Success, Inclusion and Leadership include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and implement a four-year comprehensive leadership program around the four key components of the AllWheAre campaign: Character, Performance, Involvement, and Self-Care.
• Promote, market and execute programing to develop student athletes around the four key components of the AllWheAre campaign and explore additional grants, programs and awards that could enhance the success of this program.
• Serve on the Student Affairs Expanded Leadership team and collaborate on potential campus-wide programming with all Student Affairs offices (Social Justice and Community Impact, Counseling and Health Services, Residential Life, Title IX Compliance and Student Activities, Involvement and Leadership, Academic Advising, Accessibility Services, Career Services, Global Education and the Marshall Center for Intercultural Learning).
• Create, plan and implement diversity and inclusion, leadership and academic success programs for student athletes. Utilize best practices and innovative ideas that will further develop character, personal and leadership development, while preparing student athletes in their development to become global citizens.
• Serve on the Wheaton athletics administrative staff, attending all relevant Student Affairs leadership team meetings, all NEWMAC and NCAA meetings, and serve in an administrative capacity for home varsity athletic events.
• Serve on the logistical committees for marquee athletic department events including, but not limited to, the annual Lyons Athletic Club Golf Outing and Wheaton College Athletics Yowell Hall of Fame ceremony.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and an interest in and familiarity with diversity, inclusion and leadership development, as well as collaboration with various departments around these issues required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to work independently and have the ability to work evenings and weekends from September through May to accomplish the tasks necessary for success in this field.

Preferred Qualifications:
• A master's degree and experience working within a collegiate athletic department is preferred.
