Associate Director for Title IX Outreach, Training and Education

This Associate Director for Title IX Outreach, Training and Education serves multiple functions in the campus community, focusing on the prevention, education, and reporting of issues on sexual and gender-based misconduct, interpersonal violence, and stalking.

The Associate Director serves as the Program Coordinator for the College's Office on Violence Against Women ( OVW ) Campus Grant. In this function, this position will act as a liaison with other programs, offices, and departments to accomplish OVW grant program objectives and will provide administrative support for all grant related activities.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director for Title IX Outreach, Training and Education include, but are not limited to, the following:

• SMART Leadership: Provide leadership for the interdepartmental Sexual Misconduct and Assault Resource Team ( SMART ).
• Office on Violence Against Women ( OVW ) Grant Coordinator: Coordinate with Project Director to ensure compliance and adherence to OVW Campus Grant proposed initiatives and requirements.
• Awareness and Prevention Programming and Training: Coordinate and implement campus-wide prevention and awareness programs on sexual misconduct and violence, interpersonal violence, stalking, and bystander intervention.
• Student Reporting and Response: Provide support to the Director of Title IX Compliance by serving as a contact and coordinator of follow-up services to any student alleging sexual assault or misconduct. This includes communication with the student and serving as liaison to other offices as necessary including the Counseling Center, Student Health Services, Residential Life, Public Safety and outside providers.
• Title IX Compliance: Assist the Director of Title IX Compliance in maintaining documentation and tracking databases related to reports of Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct and in managing Sexual and Gender-Based Misconduct complaints, investigations, and disciplinary action.
• Policy Development: Assist with writing and implementing policies for the College.
• May supervise a graduate intern and/or student workers for SMART .

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in higher education, counseling, counselor education, psychology, social work, public health, or related field, and three or more years of experience in higher education, primarily working with traditional student populations required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent skills in collaboration and interpersonal relationship development.
• Demonstrated expertise in topics of sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence with traditional-age college students on a small residential campus.
• Skills in crisis management and ability to navigate complex relationships with extensive knowledge of confidentiality and relevant laws.
• Ability to work well with a diverse range of constituents (staff, faculty, parents, off-campus providers, etc.).
• Strong skills in understanding student development theory.
• Ability to work well with college students and be perceived as trustworthy, empathic and clear in setting/communicating expectations in accordance with policies/procedures.
• Ability to conduct educational programs and training workshops.
• Familiarity with promising practices related to policy development and survivor advocacy. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance including Title IX, VAWA /Campus SAVE , and Clery.
• Strong organizational skills and evidence of an ability to lead an interdepartmental resource team.
