Reservations Agent

Position Summary:
The Reservation Agent accepts all reservations originating from the internal and external sources including the university and on-line booking channels. Maintains accuracy of guest's data and all reservations. Assists guests with directions and other hotel information. Receives special requests from guests and records them accordingly. Maintains and answers multiple phone lines. Answers calls originating from external and internal sources. Clearly communicates with guests regarding hotel information and emergencies. Verifies last name of guest prior to connection to room. Directs caller to appropriate extension or room. Provides assistance and coverage to the front desk team as necessary. Provides prompt and courteous service.

Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in a customer service environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must have the ability to multi-task and assist customers under high pressure situations; ability to perform detailed and accurate work. Must be able to work a varying schedule to include five days per week at six hours per day. Day and evening shift available.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of OPERA Property Management System or similar property management system; prior hotel/hospitality experience; previous experience working with a multi-line phone system is preferred.
