Alumni and External Relations Manager

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Department Head, the Alumni and External Relations Manager, develops, implements, manages, and evaluates a comprehensive program and systematic processes for building alumni relationships and communicating externally for the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department in support of its vision and strategic direction. The Manager will manage all alumni-focused engagement and communication activities as well as external communication, interfacing with other department staff, faculty, and students and College Advancement staff. He or she is expected to work closely with the Department Head to strengthen department connections with alumni along with the Associate and Assistant Department Heads, and Graduate and Undergraduate advisors.

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, management, or related field or related training and significant experience
•Experience with alumni relations
•Broad background and experience with organizational and business communication, including promotional materials
•Experience presenting to groups of varying size
•Ability to work independently, without close supervision, and collaboratively within a team environment
•Strong computer skills (e.g., MS office suite including Excel, web content management systems, social media tools)
•Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, and managing multiple projects and tasks

Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's degree in communications, marketing management, or related field
•Experience in event planning and management
•Demonstrated knowledge of effective graphic design and branding principles
•Experience in a university environment
•Knowledge of university policies and practices
•Experience with documenting processes
