Master Teacher (MTeach) - Clinical Track Faculty

Middle Tennessee State University is seeking qualified applicants for a 10-month, full-time clinical-track position (#125190). This is an annual contract at the Clinical Instructor rank that may be continued based upon a positive annual evaluation and recommendation of the Program Coordinator/Dean. Start date for the position is August 1, 2018.

The successful candidate will become a non-tenurable clinical faculty member in the MTeach Program. An appointment to this position will primarily involve participation in teaching and/or supervising undergraduate and post baccalaureate students in courses and experiences related to field-based teacher preparation. Primary responsibilities include teaching field-based courses students take in their pursuit of certification, working with local area public school teachers who act as mentors for the students, and conducting field observations of the students teaching in classrooms. The successful candidate will be a vital member of the MTeach team. Master Teachers may also have the opportunity to participate in offering dual enrollment courses in their field of expertise. Additional duties will include student mentoring, advising, and other program related tasks. Interest in participating in professional preparation program expected.

Required Education
Master's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geosciences, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Agriculture Education, Education: Curriculum and Instruction, or Education: Administrative and Supervision by appointment date.

Required Related Experience
Minimum 5 years experience as a secondary classroom teacher. Expertise in appropriate use of instructional technology.

Required License/Registration/Certification
Other Desirable
Applicants with public school teaching experience will receive special consideration.
