SECL VT Student Production Technician I - Summer Employment

Position Summary:
Student Engagement and Campus Life ( SECL ) cultivates community for the entire Hokie Nation. Through dynamic and transformational programs, entertainment, services, and facilities, we create opportunities for students to make a lifetime of memories.
The Production Technician I is an entry-level, student position within SECL Production Services. This position provides labor, audio, video and lighting support for events taking place in the Squires Student Center, Burruss Auditorium, Graduate Life Center and other campus indoor and outdoor venues. This position reports to the Production Services Coordinator but will work under the leadership of the Production Technician II and student Supervisors to learn basic sound reinforcement, audio, video and lighting principles and systems operation. Proficiency in these areas is necessary for moving up to the next-level.

Required Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled as a Virginia Tech student and available to work a minimum of 8 hours per week; must be able to handle and move items weighing up to 75 pounds and perform various types of manual labor; ability to work with faculty, staff, students and customers from diverse backgrounds; ability to work independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
